Mainly Seafood - Te Anau

The restaurant offers a nice selection of fish and seafood, available for takeout. We ordered the fish and chips, the fisherman’s basket, and a salad for $45. The service was excellent, and our server was incredibly friendly, truly making my day!

I'm not sure why this fish and chip shop only has a rating of 3.9 stars. We had a great experience with the fish and chips, and the prices were very affordable. The staff were incredibly friendly, and our food was served hot from the fryer just about 10 minutes after ordering. I'm giving them 5 stars in hopes of boosting their rating because they truly deserve it. If you're in Te Anau, I highly recommend stopping by!

It's more of a snack bar than a full restaurant, but the food is good and reasonably priced. We tried two types of prawns, the green-lipped mussels, and espresso. Everything was tasty, though we found the garlic a bit overwhelming afterwards, but that might just be a personal preference.

This is literally the best fish and chips I have ever had. Better than anything I had in the UK and better than anything I have had in the US. Fish is flavorful to the point where you could eat it without sauce. Perfectly cooked to crispy perfection. Every single chip was perfectly cooked. Crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside. Not a single one in the bunch. My friend and I were in Te Anau for 3 days and every night we just went back here because we couldn't get enough. I'm hopefully traveling New Zealand again in February 2021 and I'm coming here immediately if they are open.
