I had reached out to them with a message about their opening hours and the food, but did not receive a response. We were disappointed with the homity pie, which was tasteless, but found the Thai pie to be okay. The standout dish was the steak and Stilton pie. Overall, it seems that while some items are excellent, others are just mediocre.
My daughter and I decided to stop by this restaurant after visiting friends in the village. The woman who seemed to be in charge was very rude and spoke poorly to one of her employees. I ordered a ginger cat pie for myself, and a salmon and dill quiche for my daughter. As a vegan, I was surprised to taste beef suet in the crust of my pie. Unfortunately, my daughter became very ill within two hours of eating her quiche, as she had worked a 14-hour shift the day before and had not eaten before going to bed. She was sick for 36 hours. We will not be returning to this restaurant.
Stopped recently for a take away breakfast. Coffee was pretty good, pastries very good but the sausage rolls were the best I have ever tasted truly amazing, both the plain and the chorizo. Sadly, I live about 200 miles away. Friendly service too! Well done, The Ginger Cat!
Delicious sandwiches, good prices and lovely staff. Nice selection of pies, pasties and cakes. Would highly recommend!
The Ginger Cat has a fantastic range of home baked sweet and savoury goodies, delicious freshly made sandwiches and rolls, a selection of cheeses, hams and olives as well as a range of store cupboard ingredients. The takeaway pizzas to cook at home are really good value for money and a quick and tasty meal. It’s the home baking where the Ginger Cat really stands out though. Huge, meaty sausage rolls, a variety of pie fillings to satisfy meat eaters and vegetarians, slices of mouth watering quiche, the most incredible Scotch eggs, as well as brownies, flapjacks and cake for aftershock. The vegan coconut and chocolate flapjack is particularly recommended.
