New City Takeway - Telford and Wrekin

The take away food at this restaurant is of excellent quality and incredibly fresh. The portion sizes are generous and the food is extremely delicious. This is the best take away food we have had in a long time.

Loved their for a long time food. But this evening wasn’t the best. Ordered deep fried beef shredded with vegetables oyster sauce. The vegetables was delicious but the deep fried shredded beef tasted not right. When it arrived all the beef were struck together in the container and wasn't pipping hot. I had physically break them apart. Beef tasted like it was off, and cold, had to warm it up in microwave, still didn’t taste better. Phoned New City to let them know, the person on the phone didn't even apology, and started arguing with me saying it was cooked, doesn’t understand because no one never complained before shredded chicken and beef were most popular etc I asked why was all the shredded beef all struck together, if it was cooked it would be all loose around the container, and was it cold like it must have been taken from freezer they denied it saying it wasn't from the freezer cant do anything about my order. I was hoping for an apology when I called them and a replacement and not a refund, but the caller started arguing with me at the beginning. Disappointed, £25 gone down the drain, will never order from them again there was no need for the attitude. I told them this. Then the caller said can send me a replacement , I said forget it. They said will put credit on my next order. I said I’m not coming back or ordering again . Very disappointed

As previously mentioned, this is definitely the best Chinese takeout in Telford, and possibly in all of Shropshire! The service is always attentive, friendly, and quick, and the food is consistently delicious.

As a repeat customer od New City, i can't praise them highly enough- consistently good , hot, tasty Chinese food- always of great quality. Service is fantastic too.

After a busy day working at the vaccination center, the enticing aroma of this takeout restaurant lured us in for a meal. The staff was friendly and our food arrived promptly. However, we were left feeling disappointed with the overall quality. The egg fried rice lacked any visible signs of egg and the meat dishes lacked the expected flavors of garlic, ginger, and Chinese spices. Everything seemed to be overcooked and the meats (chicken and beef) were lacking in texture. I prefer my stir-fried vegetables to have a crunchy texture, but they were soft. In my opinion, you can find better flavor and quality in a Chinese meal deal from the supermarket. As a local, I won't be returning to this restaurant.
