Cafe Champagne Thornton Winery

We decided to give this place a try on Monday, despite the negative reviews, and now we understand the criticism. The food is quite pricey—$34 for a burger, plus tax and tip, which is a bit shocking. They don't offer standard tastings, only pre-set flights that can't be customized. The wine was decent, but for us, it just doesn't warrant a return visit.

We were quite disappointed to find that a party of three couldn't order anything from the menu. It seemed like they felt the need to serve us, so someone rushed to the store and got Van De Camp fish. The batter was terrible, and they didn't have short ribs, mashed potatoes, or fries available. However, they did offer us a 10% discount and didn’t charge us for some items. On the bright side, the drinks were good, but overall, the food was very overpriced for what you can easily buy at the store.

The real downside of the experience was the service, which seems to be a common issue noted in several other reviews I've come across. Initially, we were seated but waited a full 30 minutes without anyone acknowledging us or taking our orders. It took an hour for our food to arrive, and during our three-hour stay, our server checked on us only once. We all wanted to order additional items, but we had to flag down anyone we could find, who then had to locate our server for us. Overall, the service was terrible, and the prices were outrageous in contrast to what should have been a fantastic evening at a concert. Unfortunately, I can't bring myself to return with such poor service experiences. Perhaps the atmosphere is better when there isn’t a concert happening.

I wish the weather was better so we could have enjoyed our tasting outside. Because of the rain we had to do our tasting seated in the cafe. Ambiance was just ok…but the chocolate wine tasting was absolutely delicious. The goat cheese was very good as well.

Beautiful winerywith great views! We tried two different flights of wine. First was thier Mixed Flight, good starter and great selection. The app we shared was out of this world!!! Brie en croute made the trip worthwhile. Sweet savory dish that was just perfect with all the different wine selections.
