There's something wrong with their grub hub and their kitchen was already closed. To make up for it, she gave me whole huge tray of roast beef with potatoes, carrots. She had just finished a catering job and made too much. What an amazing surprise!!! It was freaking delish! I decided to use her catering services for my daughters party.... So trays of huli huli chicken, chicken wings, longanisa and Mac salad. Typical island entrees... but better. Their huli huli chicken was en pointe! There's a wonderful smoky flavor in there that makes want to keep grabbing more. My fave was the chicken wings. One of my friends kept going back to the tray to get one ... he ended up eating half the tray by himself. They we're super yummy!!!perfectly flavored.. sweet, crispy but moist on the inside.m! Well done! The longanisa was juicy, sweet and salty.. a bit sticky. Perfect for breakfast the next day : Mac salad was exactly as it should be, as if you got it on the island. Today, I'm picking up another order of the same for my Christmas party. Can't wait!!!
Highly recommend this place. The service is incredible and the food is even better.
In a very unassuming corner of a shopping plaza, almost completely empty on a Saturday night. It seems like they're using a rental kitchen and I guess there's a couple diner seats at the front but it's literally obscuring the order area, so not really a place where you can post up and eat. So really it's a place you order to go and take home or be like us and sit on the sidewalk and enjoy your meal uninterrupted in the parking lot hahaha. They are ONLY open on Saturdays from 11-7PM, so keep that in mind! They do online order and take phone orders, so keep that in mind! We walked in and order and it took around 15 minutes for our food to be ready. We got the: 1) Chicken Beef Combo: -This comes with Huli Huli chicken and kalbi style ribs with a glorious, generous amount of tasty sauce. -Chicken was moist and so was the beef. Huge amount of food, not sure if it's the usual case based on some of the reviews or the fact we came right before closing, but definitely way too much for 2 people and we had extra left over to eat later. -The beef was definitely my fav since it soaked in the teriyaki-like (a bit less sweet and more toasted flavor) sauce. -The rice was really yummy with the sauce as well 2) Island Wings Plate: -Very crispy on the outside even when soaked with sauce! -Wings were a decent size and the meat was quite moist. -Good, solid wings. You have the option of choosing mac salad or regular salad, so we went with mac salad for both. The sauce was creamy, not too sour as other mac salad, and was slightly peppery as well. Definitely worth stopping by!
If you 're not too familiar with Hawaiian food or haven 't had a lot of it, this spot might just be good for ya ', but if you looking for ono kine grindz brah, you may want to pass. Their menu features a few plate style lunches but the execution falls short and is pricey for what you get. We picked up the Island Wing and Chicken Beef combos. Island wings were good, but nothing distinctly island about them. The Chicken Beef were a bit skimpy two small pieces of chicken (drumstick and a backbone, lol) and a thin slice of skirt steak; don 't let the photos fool ya. ' Overall, the flavor was ok but far from broke da ' mouth; suffice to say, I 've had better. Also, the portions were pretty stingy, mac salad a bit bland, and the rice was a bit too far on the mushy side. We ordered takeout and the food was nicely packed and the folks were warm and pleasant. Food was a bit disappointing but they 'll probably do well here since the locals don 't seem too picky.
All the 5 star reviews have not had Hawaiian bbq. Chicken flavor was decent, bbq beef was chard and dry. Rice was not good at all. If someone asked me...I would pass.
