The soup had little flavor and was chunky and an unpleasant consistency and the bacon flavored tempeh dry and unappetizing. I had only two spoons full and left the rest! The Salted Edamame Beans were yum and plentiful at $7. The Hand Cut Smokey Chips with Aioli ($8) were overcooked and soggy. My partner ordered the Reuben ($17) consisting of Corned Tempeh, Creamy Russian Dressing, Sweet Onions, Powerplant Pink Kraut and hand made chips. The meal was awkward to eat and soggy. It too had little taste and the bread was stodgy.Another on our table had the Smoky Black Bean Burger ($16) and loved it. Also tried was the Burrito Macro Bowl with Tortillas ($23) although half was left. Maybe we just chose the wrong dishes but we have eaten and also cook, vegan foods regularly and there is no reason why food is not delicious. There are displays of various raw cakes, slices and biscuits and a variety of interesting smoothies, shakes and juices.Power Plant is open 7 days a week from 8am to 3.30pm. We wont go back for a second visit.
Had the set menu high tea for Mother's Day and found it to be very nice indeed. At the table we had one vegan, one vegetarian and four omnivores but we all enjoyed the fare. OK - the youngest was not so happy without a sausage roll but there you go.It was a very busy cafe and the staff were pretty efficient.Flavours were good and the breadth of choices was good.Think it would suit vegans very nicely and would travel back for more.Cannot advise on price as wife paid the bill before I could - not sure if that was a good or a bad thing.
Such a great little breakfast or lunch spot great menu with so many flavours going into each plate. Creative and tasty i would travel a long distance to eat here again. 5/5.
I am certainly glad there is a vegan cafe out in the suburbs. I think this place is worth trying and good value but some tweaking to the menu is required. It would be good to see some more variety in dishes and not so focussed on brekkies. A wider variety including lovely vegan soups and changing variety specials of vegan dishes for lunch. It lacks atmosphere but I have been twice and prepared to go again as vegan is important to me.
This cafe is large , bright and very spacious.Friendly service too. All foods are sourced locally and the desserts are baked on the premises.I was lunching with family and all the food we ordered looked appetising and tasted very good.Vegans and vegetarians ought to delight in this local venue and give this cafe a go.The turmeric latte was exceptionally tasty and not as I expected.A great place to enjoy a leisurely lunch.
