Soup potatoes to start, and a very sizable menu. We all found a dish that suited our taste…the kids loved the decor and also were very excited at choosing a toy from the safe. My little one even got to ring the bell…The service staff was extremely friendly and helpful, as well. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a full belly! Thanks, AJ’s – we’ll be back
Came here the other night to celebrate my dad 's birthday, as they are currently promoting a free steak and lobster dinner to the birthday person on their birthday with ID. He ordered, the second person in the party ordered one of their lighter meals $15), and before I could even order my entree, the waitress rudely stated, An entree must be purchased for the birthday meal to be free. I then assured her that was my plan, as well as a kids meal would be ordered in addition. Left a bad taste in my mouth as 3 of the 4 people in the party had ordered drinks, and I guess that statement would have been more fitting had I not ordered an entree. A little presumptuous and I took offense as if I were too cheap to compensate the fact a great meal was being provided for free. Beyond that, the service was pretty good. Accommodated my daughter by giving her sliced cucumber and tomatoes in place of the salad. Much appreciated. My meal was just okay. I ordered the Cowboy Blue. Fried chicken breast, ham, topped with hollandaise sauce and asparagus spears. I was not expecting my hollandaise sauce to be fridge-temp cold, and it just didn 't work with my hot food. I ended up scraping off the entire top portion of my meal because I did not care for it. The sautéed mushrooms, rice pilaf, garlic toast and potatoes were great, though. All in all, the experience was just okay for the price. I enjoy the ambiance, but the food quality has just gone down. I really hope they can revive this restaurant because it is a childhood staple, and kids love the decor.
Wow! This place was such a great find; the people, the atmosphere, the bartender, the food everything was on point. My neighbor and I decided to stop by to try AJ Spurs and we were more than impressed. We ordered a 26 ounce T-bone steak which was cooked to perfection, we had to share it. It was huge, and their sides were also pretty big. We ended up bringing home leftovers which is pretty rare for both of us. The Decour takes you back to an old western movie. The saloon style building made me think twice that some outlaw could be coming through the doers ready to start a gunfight. I loved it. It was such a charming place very welcoming. Come by AJ's you'll love it's
Oh happy birthday to you... Based on most of the reviews, if your here celebrating your birthday you should think again!! We came here to celebrate a girlfriends birthday and receive the free b'day meal $3.75). The host was beyond friendly and even helped me search for my party since I didn't know where they choose to sit. Once I found my group of friends I sat down to join them...within minutes the waitress was ready to take our orders. She looked irritated when I told her I need more time to check out the menu. After our food arrived she did not once come check on us. We sat there after we finished our food for at least 10 minutes until she finally came and asked to see how we're doing. Yet during her long absence I had to get up and ask the bartender for more water?!?! The bartender didnt even offer to find our waitress to see if we needed anything else. After her long absence she rudely asked if we wanted anything else yet my friend was entitled to live free birthday dessert. Why didn't she ask if my friend was ready for her birthday dessert?! When she brought the birthday dessert she didnt even clear our table?! We got to eat our dessert with our dirty dishes covering most of the table? I had to remove some of the plates so we could enjoy our dessert free of dirty dishes! When she dropped off our bill of at the table she didnt tell us if she was going to be our cashier. We had no clue who was going to take our money. Again she was absent so we got up to see who we needed to pay. Finally she appeared! Or maybe she thought we were going to walk out without paying?! Emily your service was unacceptable! Not how anyone wants to spend their birthday. Good job Emily
We happened have received a dining for charities certificate $50, and AJ's had been on our todo list. So we took the drive and felt like we transported ourselves into the past when we walked into the restaurant. Now I don't want to give away the many surprises you'll get to enjoy. I'll tell you that while we were amused and enjoyed the experience we did come to enjoy dinner. We started with the artichoke and didn't bother to finish it, special accouterments were also served. I enjoyed tonight's special pork chop and ribs (beef back ribs). The pork chop had been marinated in a honey base and was sweet and tender. P ordered the 6z filet it was very tender a-bit on the rare side for medium rare. It was perfect for me. There are other items that found they way onto our table and eventually onto our tastebuds. I'm going to stop there the rest would only spoil it. foodguy-martin
