The Swan - Tendring

We are regular customers at The Swan and usually love the food and atmosphere. However, when we visited yesterday at 4.30 to celebrate our son's birthday with our family, we were disappointed. We had to wait until 5pm for our table, which was not ideal. The food did not meet the usual standard, with the starters being the best part of the meal. The main courses were lukewarm and the vegetables were inedible. Additionally, the food arrived at different times and we even had to wait until almost 8pm for desserts. Our five grandchildren, who are typically well-behaved, found the wait for food and drinks to be too long. Although the staff, particularly Ryan, were working hard, the whole experience was extremely disappointing. We spent almost £360, which felt like a waste of money.

Went to the Swan on the 22nd October...we decided to have Breakfast as we dropped Balloons and a Birthday Cake of..as we also booked a Table for my Daughter Birthday Celebration the same Day. The Breakfast we had I returned it back to the Kitchen as the Food was Cold....but also the Roast Dinner we had in the Afternoon on the Same Day same Issues.....the Food was Cold so sent the Food back to the Kitchen... We all ordered Coffee after the Meal and we waited so long we complained again... Please sort the Issues out as it is a Lovely Venue and we have had Decent Food on Previous Occasions

The mushroom linguine carbonara was one of the best pastas I've EVER eaten, it was delicious and an enormous portion! The staff were lovely, and very accommodating when we'd had enough of the noisy, exhibitionist 10 person party near us our efficient and friendly waitress found a quieter, cosy corner where we could drink our tasty cocktails in peace. Recommended.

Beautiful venue with amazing service and delicious food. Would definitely recommend if you like a quirky decor and tasty food

Visited for a Sunday roast at the weekend, it was outstanding! By far the best roast I have ever eaten!! Lovely atmosphere and friendly, efficient staff….. can’t wait to come again soon Lauren, Ricky Violet
