We made a quick stop from curiosity during a family road. Quirky Roadhouse, very spacious and clean. Order a barra, salad and chips lunch and it was very nicely cooked.
Was thrown back in a few weeks and surprisingly had a reasonable meal. Hardened fate this evening again and standards have obviously paralyzed. One of the specials ordered, hardened sausages (the use of plural was sic) with mash. Get what seemed to serve a child..not the...adult size for which I paid $23. Honestly, have never served cured sausages as Pie Floater. It was best to have about 10 tiny slices of sausage (half sausage, if you were lucky) swim in what can only be described as a mushy collection of mainly lead. Only a few beans and corn. Undoubtedly, Tuesday has to be left over the day and they just have everything left with little sausage and curry. For those who like me who hate peas, you can imagine my disgust to what was introduced. It falls far behind what hardened sausages should be. The little mash on the side completed this culinary delight. The waitress ignored my questions about what it should be (sic) and consequently I remained very hungry. Just not good enough... high prices for what an economic dish should be to... even more if the last few weeks remains are used. Three ways? Maybe it would be better to throw away.
This is a typical Northern Territory Road. Food, fuel, accommodation is a lot about the best price wise and not all that good. Most travellers travel to Tennant Creek for lower prices.
We ordered a mixed grill which I give a 9/10 and a chicken parmy and that was a 10/10 we loved the food and the environment so take a break and enjoy will be our stop next road trip we do.
