Really good lunch experience. the staff is very nice and eating is also great. we were a group of nine and tried several dishes, all equally pleasant. would definitely return and recommend.
We came with work colleagues for lunch and it was just Incredible, try the Bacalao with Mayonnaise, it was extremely good. The whole meal was just under 14€ with wine and coffee, a total bargain and unbelievable price to quality you must visit To Joaquin...and ask for the complementary aguardiente at the end :
I have been in many Portuguese restaurants so far and I have always been very satisfied. The price of the daily menu varies between 7 and 9 euros, and the quantity and quality have always been high. In this restaurant Adega Do Ti Joaquim, what...shocked me was that I was charged €1.50 for the bread (which I didn't eat) and €1.50 for a few olives. The dish (Bacalhau à Ti Joaquim) was covered with mayonnaise, a little disgusting at the end, moreover I stayed with an intense taste of mayonnaise in my mouth all afternoon. After this unpleasant experience, I prefer the bacalhau in a tin can, which is the height of absurdity! The bill was 18.20€, which I find too high for what I ate and compared to other restaurants. In short, avoid this restaurant, and prefer the nice little restaurants in the centre, below, where the prices displayed correspond more to the Portuguese reality.
Sorry but I will never ever go there again. Went there today for lunch. Seven of us. Pre booked table only to get there to find the table set for six. OK no big problem so sat down and ordered our lunch. 30 mins in...to waiting we were told that we needed two people to eat the bacalhau or for the person to who choose it had to make an alternative choice. Between the rest of us we accommodated the demand and we’re told that the food would be with us shortly. A further 45 mins later three plates came to the table with the remaining four arriving 20 mins after that. We all know of places where waiting for the food is worth it, but unfortunately this is not one of those places. The food is OK, don’t get me wrong, nothing special but we all ate our choice with no issues. Not at any point did the staff check up on us. An hour after the final four dishes were served we were still waiting for someone to clear the table and offer us the desert menu. Fine we were are on holiday so no rush but still we gave up and decided to go somewhere else for ice cream and coffees. Waited another 10 mins to pay at the counter. Finally got out of the restaurant wondering why we went there in the first place and promised ourselves we will never go back. Summary, the food is OK but the service is very, very bad. If you do decide to go be warned and perhaps take a pack of cards to entertain you while you wait and a couple of snacks.
