I was working on a terrace two weeks ago during a flood and one of my coworkers, who is a foodie from Burnaby and loves Indian food, said that this was the best Indian food she had ever eaten. Although I had never tried Indian food before, I found the food to be absolutely delicious. This week, my fiancée and I decided to order from Haryana's again, and here are my observations: 1. The meat sauces are amazing - flavorful, mild in spiciness, and great in taste. 2. We shared a chicken dish with a creamy sauce and pistachios, which was also incredibly delicious. We opted for a mild-medium spiciness level. The portion size was generous and the dish was incredibly tasty. 3. The chicken in the dish was cooked perfectly - no gristle or fat, just tender and moist meat. 4. The only downside is their limited hours - they are closed on Mondays, which is usually the day I am in town. 5. The restaurant only offers takeout, which may be inconvenient, but the food is definitely worth it. I would choose Haryanas over dining in at any other restaurant in town. 6. Everything at this restaurant is homemade and the chefs are truly talented. 7. In my opinion, this is the best food in town!
I have always had fantastic dining experiences at this restaurant. The freshly prepared food is well worth the wait, and I have always been pleased with the dishes I have tried here.
My friend and I visited this restaurant based on the recommendation we received. It is conveniently located on the highway to and from Prince Rupert. The service was friendly and efficient. We tried the Veggie Samosas and Chicken Biryani, both of which were excellent. The dipping sauces ranged from mild to sweet to spicy. The Biryani had the perfect amount of heat, making it flavorful but not overpowering. I would definitely come back again.
The food here is really amazing and you can decide how hot it is on a scale of 0 10 (I liked the 6). When you eat, prepare for a bit of waiting, how everything is scratched and take some time to eat here. Service was great, food excellent, but that was a problem I had was totally cleanliness. The floor was sticky to go, and the windows and the thresholds were very dirty. Nevertheless, the food was so amazing that I am back (translated my inner Arnold there).
Haryana's Restaurant on the extreme west end of Terrace is an excellent place to savour the flavours of East Indian food. You can get your food low, medium or hot, hot, hot depending no your taste buds. Just drink a glass of milk before your...meal and it will coat your stomach so go for the hot. While you wait for your exquisite meal you can listen to the low background music of the far east. With a meal like chicken on the bone in a soupy red sauce you will also get a heaping helping of white rice. I crave this dish as it is superbly delicious and tasty. You can order a cold drink will waiting for the scrumptious meal that at times will take awhile. The service is good and the atmosphere is excellent with nice views of the river and mountains. I highly recommend a dinner at Haryana's in the quiet western edge of town near a pub and motels.
