I decided to head to Terrace for dinner since the drive isn't far. Came here and got the lamb burger and soup of the day (tomato bisque). The lamb burger was very gamy. But on the bright side, it was juicy and not dry. The tomato bisque was super salty. I do like the jalapeno popper on top of the burger. The presentation of the food was quite nice. Another thing that I found kind of disgusting was the lime settlement on the bottom in my cup of water. Kind of gross. I only noticed it half way. The decor of the place is nice. Plenty of parking outside. Food prices are ok. I mean I am up North and I do find food up North is a bit more expensive. But that is because it takes more effort and money to ship ingredients up. I guess this is the fanciest restaurant in Terrace.
Fresh locally sourced food that is far better than standard pub fare. Kids welcome until 8 pm AND there are gluten free options also!! Quite an exotic variety of menu items, seasonal to boot! The chef makes some mean burgers! The beef is sourced from Smithers and is butchered by the chef right there on site! The fellow from England was a butcher before a chef! We ordered the warm peanuts, pomme de frites (with both epic sauces, truffle aioli spicy Iberian cream), and sweet potato chips for the appetizers. Fantastic to say the least, all of them! For the main courses we had a Gangam style burger, the all dressed burger, smoked rock hen and some cod cakes. All amazingly delicious! All locally sourced and made! The hand ground burgers were on soft homemade buns baked that day! For dessert we had fresh churros (served with dulce de leche dipping sauce) and Choco-lava-lavender cake (dark lava cake and house churned lavender ice cream). The lavender ice cream was a great flavour blend with dark chocolate cake. The owner Tyson happened to be at the table next to us and was nice enough to answer all our questions!! The chefs focus on local, seasonal ingredients, in fact the one chef was out picking fresh local fennel and leeks just the other day! I would highly recommend this place, will stop by again!!! #TheBitk #BrosInTheKnow
