With all those breakfast restaurants copying each others, it was very refreshing to find this very original restaurant. The ambiance kind of reminds me of europe. Nice setting and decor, very class. The staff was kind and polite.Although I'm not a great fans of crepes, these where just amazingly good. I had "Le Roulé Hollandais" and it was just WOW!Two downsides. first; it was a bit long since before we got our food and since the place wasn't crowded, having to wait 25 minutes for crepes is quite long. and secondly; Coffee refills ... plssssThe food was so good we'll be back to try the fondu for sure.
We had a brunch on a Sunday morning with the whole family for my sister's 25th birthday (party of 11 with 3 kids). This place is just G R E A T !!! The service is excellent, the medieval ambiance is very nice and the owner is all around the place to make sure everything is up to expectations. He does not hesitate to come and thank you, and make sure all is perfect. The food is just excellent. No one in our party regrets their choice. We will try their night menu, specialized in fondue, in the next few weeks, for sure.We live in Varennes (south shore,) and we will not hesitate a second to cross all Montreal and visit the place again on the north shore. It really worth it.One of the best restaurant in the greater Montreal area, period! Just E X C E L L E N T !!!
We have been to this restaurant a few times and had no complaints. If you want a leisurely meal a fondue at this place is ideal...However, we brought our inlaws here lastnight and it was very disappointing. The service was slow at best..Our server was charming, when around, but we literally had to stand up at our table to flag someone down to get our water refilled after being totally dry for atleast 25 mins...during a meal that takes atleast 45 mins, it being a slow fondue...during which time we never had our water refilled once. With the fondue and sauces, it's not surprising to be thirsty...The restaurant wasn't very busy, in our whole section, (one half of the restaurant) there was one other table with 2 ppl...the other side had aprox 5-6 tables .so being swamped was not the case...Had it been we would totally understand..We were not in any hurry and enjoying the evening with inlaws..To top off our dismay however, we had ordered the chocolate and the cream sugar fondues for desert...Being our inlaws were visiting from France, they had never tasted the Sugar Cream, typically from Quebec..It's something I particulary love...We waited another 20 mins after finishing our meal, for the table to be cleared..then another 15 for the dessert fondues to arrive....All while the server was texting on his phone, or the other server , the woman working there was on the restaurant phone...(personal call it would seem, as the phone never rang
First i would like to say i'm giving this review 1 because i can't put 0. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Service took forever. Portions are very small and very expensive. The fondue came with all you could eat rice...guess what, they ran out of rice . And to top it all off they ran out of ice cream for the dessert as well. First and last time i'm setting foot in that restaurant. Do yourself a favor eat at McDonald's believe or not it's cheaper, more filling and the food tastes better. D'Artagnan from the 3 musketeers must be rolling in his grave. STAY AWAY.
The cheese fondue is really the best!! I could'nt say the same for the meat fondue I found it a little tasteless. The service is extremely long. Other than that it was really good and the ambiance is nice too.
