I also tried a beef enchilada but ended up with a cheese enchilada filled with beef and topped with cheese queso instead. My third order was simply cheese enchiladas, but what I received was an enchilada filled with queso and more queso on top. None of the plates came with the tortillas that should have been included, and there were no hot sauces available either. We ended up leaving most of our food on the table, feeling unsatisfied, and we spent $23 for this terrible experience. The food was not even fit for my dog!
Our favorite dish is the sampler—it's truly the best of everything. They even made a special green sauce just for my wife!
I'm disappointed to say that this restaurant is not what it used to be. It's difficult to get the attention of the staff, as they often seem preoccupied with their phones. The food quality has noticeably declined as well. Even in-person orders can be troublesome, as the staff may disappear after serving your food, making it hard to get things corrected. Despite having a line of customers waiting, tables were rarely cleaned, and only a few seemed to receive any attention at all. The floors were dirty and had a musty odor reminiscent of old pots. My last three visits have been so disappointing that I don't plan to return. If you're curious about why the business is struggling, look no further than the inattentiveness of the staff.
I think if you are paid to prepare and serve requested food. You should try to serve the right food. I don't like my job, but because I'm paid to do it professionally, I do. That's the deal, I treat you respectfully when I order the food and I expect the food to be right. I know that work in Taco Cabana is not the miracle of the food industry, but you have signed your name to do it.
I haven't been to a Taco Cabanna in years. My husband has never been to one. I had a hankering for the salsa bar. Boy, was I disappointed. Not only was there no salsa bar, there were no salt packets. My husband got the enchilada plate and was happy. I got the Taco plate and was not happy. I didn't have the Pico or the cilantro to put on it. There was only a salsa. I bite into the Taco expecting beef. Nope, it was some funky chicken mixture. I didn't care for it at all. Talk about ruining a Taco. I also realized I wasn't asked if I wanted beef or chicken. I couldn't eat them. I would have expected chicken and not some diced up stuff in some kind of sauce. It came with chips and queso. The queso was good, but the chips were so stale it seemed like they came from a bag opened weeks ago. The final disappointment was when I went to throw away our trash. The trash bin was overflowing. I don't think I will ever go back to the Taco Cabana.
