Nice welcoming feel to the pub staff were very friendly. It’s dog friendly which is always a bonus. We went for sharing chicken roast. This was good with plenty of vegetables roast potatoes. Cauliflower cheese could have done with a bit more sauce. All in all a good meal and we were not in anyway rushed.
Called in at the end of a lovely walk. Had a delicious Sunday Roast. Beef was tender and veg and Yorkshire puddings were great. Service was friendly and just right!
Disappointing Sunday lunch: (had Sunday roast) the portion was huge. The beef was sinewy and the roast potatoes and parsnips were undercooked. there was a huge amount of stodgy stuffing and the food was so highly stacked on the plate it made the already under cooked potatoes even less appealing . very disappointing although the carrots and Yorkshire pudding were good. I would have brought this to the attention of the staff had anyone checked to see if the food was ok . Ate what was edible and left not cheap either
Had a family meal here on a sunday. Arrived 1.5hrs early yet despite being busy were very accommodating and by the time we had got our drinks at the bar they had our table ready. We're served throughout by a very attentive and polite young lady. Food was very good indeed, 2 roasts were of high quality and the other 2 meals were burgers which were equally as good. Desserts were of equally high quality. All in all we spent a really nice couple of hours enjoying a relaxed meal in a relaxed environment. I'm sure we will be back.
Delighted that we got the last table as a walk in for Sunday lunch. Been here many times and felt like we had won the lottery. Lovely waiting on the settee by the fire, for our table to be ready. Friendly staff too. However, our roast was very disappointing. It was cold on arrival and cold after being returned- except for small bit of cabbage in the middle of the plate
