It is kid-friendly with a kids menu available. I enjoyed the Madras Curry special served over chips, which was a large portion complete with papadum, naan, and chutney. The restaurant also offers a variety of Wadsworth's ales and ciders. There is ample parking available at a public pay lot next door, costing around £1.60 for two hours.
Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a dog (see photo), which was a delightful surprise for me as a dog lover who was missing my own furry friend after a long trip. The positive experience didn't stop there. The service was both friendly and efficient, the burgers were top-notch, and the overall atmosphere was cozy with families and even another dog present.
Pete and his staff are super friendly. We visit regularly and Pete always comes over for a catch up. Lovely atmosphere, great grub, excellent beer and a fantastic cental town location. Nearest car park is right next door and is free after 16:00 every day, apart from Sundays when parking is free.
I want to start by saying that the staff were friendly and welcoming. However, after calling ahead about gluten free options they gave us a 'menu ' torn form a note pad and written in pen and sharpie. If we had not been fortunate to open the menu or have another member of staff passing by tell us, we would not have known that the food was cooked in the same fryer as the bread/batter etc. So it was gluten free other than being cooked with gluten. We tried to make the best of it and avoided the fryer but the food was not great. I had spaghetti meatballs which turned out to be quite spicy and my wife had gf carbonara with gloopy pasta and gristle bits in. We cut our losses and left. If you are just having a drink, im sure friendly staff can accommodate you but would not recommend eating there.
Short visit to Andover so we popped in the the pub for brunch and drinks. Warmly greeted by friendly staff and served quickly. Food arrived and was well presented and tasty. Nice atmosphere in this old historic building and we would visit again when in the area.
