We were looking forward to having meals in our hotel. But each time we looked over the menu, it was overpriced and, actually, a bit boring. So we didn't try the food. We walked to other restaurants in Teton Village However, there were free appetizers in the bar area starting at 4:00 pm, which included cookies. The appetizer we tried on the first night hot chicken wings turned out to be pretty tasty. The cookies. Some were fine. Others, over-baked and dry. The second night there were taco fixings with tortilla chips instead of taco shells. The tiny plates didn't really suit the messy nacho arrangement. However, service in the bar was superb, with staff coming by (on the first night) to clear plates. The bartender was always gracious. There was free coffee and tea and ice water in the adjacent lobby all day.
...in the village. We stayed at this hotel so it was convenient to have one dinner there. It was shoulder season so a lot of places had closed. We had dinner in the bar, it was actually crowded, the bar was understaffed, as one guy was bartending and taking food orders. He had another bringing out the plates, but I felt everyone felt rushed as he didn't hide the fact that he needed help, and the kitchen did too. As for the food my wife had her fist bison burger and surprisingly raved about it. I had trout and found it to be a bit dry and just not that good. With the one man show can't really complain about service efficiency. On another note we had the buffet breakfast a couple days later that was a better experience and would recommend that.
I have the $42 new york strip steak. it was big, but somehow hard. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't worth $42. it was boiled properly. the intention of our table was the bar in one direction, and the check-in counter in the other. we haven't seen any horses from the window. the personal had a great job that had no better server. it wasn't the atmosphere we expected.
I was 4 nights in the lodge. I had the breakfast buffet today. it is expensive, but not different from other hotels in the big city or tourist areas. eier, speck, coffee and many fresh fruits: strawberries, bromberries, blueberries, 3 species melone and pineapple.
