The Fleet is a Butcombe Brewery pub that offers a loyalty card. We stayed in a beautiful and spacious room for £65 with a bed and breakfast offer, with an additional £10 charge for our dog. We enjoyed a complimentary birthday bottle of Prosecco on the terrace courtesy of Butcombe. To qualify for the reduced Sunday offer, we had to spend over £50 in the restaurant. The starter was missing cutlery, but it was quickly rectified when we asked. The main course took longer than expected to arrive, and we had to remind the staff. The food was tasty, with a good selection of beer and wine. The management and staff's attentiveness played a significant role in our overall experience. A few improvements, such as better communication and service, could make this place top-notch. We give it 5 stars overall.
If there is one place that reflects its location in its pricing, this is it. Undoubtedly a beautiful setting, but they don't deliver value for the money they charge.
Came for a walk and Sunday dinner. I usually don't go out for sunday roasts because I always find them disappointing. the roast in the car park was the first I had in a long time, which was delicious and good. I'm veggie so normal. find myself, I'd better have thought of staying at home and doing it myself if I had lunch. not the fall here fresh and well cooked vegetables, large vege wellington and delicious gravy. cartoffels could have been craspier, and I would like to have a bit more cauliflower cheese (it was delicious) but otherwise fab. good size also (restoration room for desert.) I also found the personal friendly and efficient, and it is a beautiful location at the flow.
We came with mother for light lunch. No light lunches available. Setting is lovely , obvious advantage of river views. However, can't rely just on that. No senior staff at all. Entirely staffed by very young , untrained teens with no experience. Not particularly friendly...either. Food very average but just ok. I asked for ice and lime, I did not get it, and coffees cold. Needs to shape up and not just think the view will override all mistakes
