The definite highlight of the meal was the souffle that was advertised as being for two people. It is best described as being the size of...a football! It was light, delicious and four of us could barely finish it. If you eat here you must order the souffle with your meal!
There was a lot of people, but the service was quick and efficient. Everything was good but a little bit expensive.
We were there in the middle of January. The hotel is very nicely situated at the Fuschlsee in the Salzkammergut. The hotel is managed by the family Vogl. Reception was very friendly (with hand out of some information about the surroundings) The room was large...with a nice bath room and separate toilet (with lake view) Right in front of the hotel there is a (free) parking place. Breakfast was very good with a good choice of bread, meat, eggs etc.... We booked half board which was a good idea, because during winter period many hotels and restaurant are closed. The dinner was very good course menu) The hotel is furthermore good situated to get to know the region. (Salzburg is only km), Hallstatt (unesco world heritage), Sankt Wolfgang, Bad Ischl etc.... are in the neighbourhoud. So I can really adivse this hotel for its situation, friendly people and its good restaurant.
We loved this place. Little touches from the hand written welcome note and fruit bowl all the way to the unsolicited provision of blankets when sitting at the lakeside after dinner. Efficient and friendly staff wonderfully dressed in local costume added to the experience. We...came as B&B and upgraded to half board after the first evenings dinner. thoroughly recommend.
