A charming young woman from Thalgau and her experienced , well trained partner/cookopened the PLATZHIRSCH only a few months ago. Since then I have been back several times, enjoying the excellent food in its tasteful surrounding and immaculate tableware.Don't miss the outstanding "Tartare" !!! May I be allowed to say- "vaut le detour".
Place is terrific. The food like someone from master chef has prepared. Plating, taste and portions are perfect. Husband and wife run it but the service is excellent. It's a small little town but anyone enjoying good food and drinks must visit. It's totally worth it.
We were driving back to Abersee after a long day out, and used TripAdvisor to look for somewhere to eat. We hadn't been to Thalgau which doesn't seem like anything special as a town, but the restaurant was fantastic. We had a delicious fish starter, a mushroom risotto and a schnitzel main course, and the most incredible puddings, especially the Schmarrn.This was certainly the best meal we had during a week in the area, and the waitress was lovely. Only downside at the moment is terrible roadworks, that do leave you feeling a little like you're eating on he middle of a roundabout. But it would be a shame to let that stop anyone enjoying the food experience here. Expensive but well worth it.
Last Wednesday evening we had a dinner with our friends in this restaurant. From the glass champagne when we arrived, to those amazing amuse-boche, fresh baked bread with butter all to dessert everything was perfect. Very good and pleasant service! Did not expect that in Thalgau to found such a fine-dinning restaurant. It worth a trip from Salzburg! And I really mean it!
