Normally, the manager allows it since the limit in the fine print specifies a maximum of 8 people per group, but the new waitress did not permit it. Should we consider sitting at two separate tables next time we have a group of 9?
I really enjoy this restaurant. The waiter was very polite and seated us at our table. My wife ordered a chicken and pancetta salad, while I chose the asparagus and pancetta tagliatelle. Both dishes were delicious. We also enjoyed a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. For dessert, we shared a Tiramisu. An added bonus was that they accepted our Tastecard, saving us £16. The only minor complaint was that the music was a bit too loud, but it didn't ruin our enjoyable lunch.
Food was very good and service too. But the only problem was we were rushed as during the week they close early. I sadly didn’t know that till I got there. Had a table for 15 people 7.30 slot . Once 5here I was told the kitchen closes at 9 and restaurant 9.30. Too late to go elsewhere so had no choice. We spend a lot of money over £500 and not even given 5he chance to have deserts. Very disappointed so sadly would not be visiting Westwood cross anymore.
My hubby was away in Spain, regaling us with posts of his fun and food. I decided we shouldn't just sit at home. My boy chose ASK. He loves their pizza. We hadn't been for quite a while. We didn't book, but there were plenty of seats so we had no trouble getting a table. He chose the Margarita, his perennial favourite, while I opted for the Genovese, also one of my favourites. Unfortunately, ASK had changed the pasta in it changing to a horrible frilly version instead of the substantial one like penne that I'd been used to. When I commented on it, our server was nonplussed saying I could have whichever pasta I chose. I was very happy and selected a similar version to penne. We both agreed the meal was scrummy and we were much too full for dessert.
Good experience. Staff were efficient, friendly and accommodating. The Food was good and in many ways you cannot go far wrong with the food at an Ask. It was a nice touch that they offered you a free small glass of their Fresh Lemonade. Small gestures like that go a long way. Does not cost much to do. Anyways, will consider returning with friends in the not too distant future. Thank you to all staff involved.
