Shaka Hawaiian Bbq - The Colony

Wow, what an experience! I visited this restaurant for the first time tonight, and it exceeded my expectations. The family meal is an incredible value, especially with the option to add LA short rib for a little extra. The macaroni salad was delicious without being overly rich. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The food portions are generous. I give 5 stars for the beef and chicken, while the fish earns 4 stars based on the opinions of my foodie group of 4.

We adore the Hawaiian plate lunch from Shaka. My husband and I always order the same dishes: the Kalbee Short Ribs and Fried Fish BBQ Chicken combo. They arrive hot and fresh every time. The meats are consistently flavorful and juicy, and I particularly enjoy their macaroni salad. If we lived closer, we would definitely visit more frequently, but perhaps it's a good thing we don't! I highly recommend it if you're in the Colony/Frisco area near Highway 121.

Better than expected! Top notch experience overall. Patient, helpful consultation on menu items, clean, and tasteful meals! Chicken katsu and fried whitefish was delectable, along with the rice and macaroni salad. Will go back!

I’m so glad I decided to try this place. The service was great and the person who helped me was awesome and explained everything amazingly as it was my first time there. The food was soooooo delicious the chicken was tender and seasoned perfectly! I got the chicken plate and substituted in the teriyaki chicken and got a side of ragoons. AND another plus, they have a drive thru!!!!!!!!!
