It also happened to be Takoyaki Tuesday, so it felt like it was meant to be. From start to finish, the service was excellent! My server was very attentive and one of the owners asked how my meal was after I was finished... Even some of the kitchen staff thanked me on the way out! From one service industry person to another, y'all crushed it! Thank you : As for the food? Well, I would eat there for lunch everyday if my wallet would let me xD Seriously, it's a streamlined, but thoughtful menu. The tofu took me by surprise, because of its subtle sweetness, and ended up complimenting the spicy cucumbers quite well lol. The rice was perfectly cooked. The truffle seaweed fries were so crispy and delicious (try them dipped in the tofu's sauce! . Everything was awesome and the portion size was generous! I ordered some Takoyaki to take home as well and I was not disappointed. The texture and flavor was *chef's kiss*. Also don't sleep on their house made drinks! The Matcha Yuzu-ade was divine : Thank you guys! I look forward to returning :D
A great lunch for days you wanna treat yo'self. It can be a little pricy $20+ for a bento box) but the food is delish. My go-to combination is teriyaki chicken, white rice, kimchi, and takoyaki. Let me tell you, the takoyaki is BOMB. On weekdays you can get your food quickly but on Sundays you might have to wait in line! Fortunately you can always order online and it's also delish as takeout. Hako Bento has some yummy features on weekends on top of their already delish bento, including omurice, soufflé pancakes, and recently they had hand-pulled noodles! If you're a frequent customer, get a punch card; every 5 meals you buy can get you a free bento! Parking situation: on-site but can be limited on Sundays
Okay so I have to give this place points for vibes, but food was only okay. This is kinda hidden away and hard to find, especially with the construction happening right now. But it's feels like a great spot to come for chill happy hours with colleagues or friends. We went around lunch time, so I can't speak to the drinks, but they looked like they had a well stocked bar in the back. Seating area was super cute as well. Staff were helpful and attentive as well. Food was great in portion size, I liked their kimchi and iced tea options. The meats we got didn't seem like anything out of this world though, but maybe that's just me. I do want to come back during cocktail hour and try this place again though, I have a feeling it'll much improve the experience of the place.
I came for lunch by a friend's recommendation. Already after walking in, I love the atmosphere and the modern vibe. Got the mango drink, and you can tell it's fresh. Food was delicious, not too heavy, and the portions were LARGE. IMO, you get your moneys worth. I don't even live in Houston, but I will be back.
Food was really good!! The hosts were courteous and attentive and the vibe is great: the spicy garlic edamame was super tasty
