The Blind Goat

We came in with high hopes for this restaurant but it fell short of our expectations. The ambiance is good and the staff were nice but the food was alright. For 4 people we got the bahn khot, spring rolls, papaya salad, whole fish, and sticky wings.The bahn khot had some great flavors (4/5).The spring rolls lacked all flavor but the peanut sauce was its saving grace (3/5).The papaya salad had great flavor but the texture of the beef jerky made it an odd combination (3/5). The whole fish was definitely the star of the show. It was great except for the fact that they give you so few vermicelli beds and they charge you for each extra one (5/5). The sticky wings tasted delicious and crispy on the outside but a couple of the wings were a bit dry on the inside (4/5). Finally, for dessert we got the apple pie and it was a hit with very rich flavors (5/5). I don’t think I would go again just because for the price I think i could get much better food elsewhere. The presentation and ambiance are what you are paying for here for sure. Maybe its a bit unfair because we were all really excited for this restaurant but it really fell short so 3/5.

Had been wanting to try this place for a while and it did not disappoint. Very clean environment, friendly accommodating staff and food was excellent. The fish sauce sticky wings were a standout.

The food and service were good. All the dishes that we ordered were tasty, especially the crawfish and garlic noodles. The pate on the banh mi board was also really good, but the cha was overcooked and dry. The prices were reasonable for the area; but if you're comparing to Bellaire/Chinatown, the flavors were comparable, but portion sizes significantly smaller.

Loved the fish dish. The table had the brisket fried rice, goat curry, egg rolls and wanton queso. My favorite was the fish. The queso did not have any meat in it. Service was okay. Amazing drinks! Definitely would recommend!Parking: Plenty of parking available.

Our waiter didn’t introduce himself, so we didn’t even know his name. He took an unusually long time to take our order, and our drinks arrived after our meals. I want to emphasize that my friends and I were very polite throughout the meal. We gave him multiple opportunities to improve, but there was no change in his service. He hardly checked on us at all during the meal. Things reached a breaking point when we noticed he was engaging in conversation with the table next to us while completely ignoring our attempts to get his attention. At that point, we decided to bring our concerns to the manager. He approached our table and was very apologetic, offering us each a gift card to make amends. This really helped to restore my impression of The Blind Goat. The manager was friendly and handled the situation with great professionalism. Overall, the food was excellent, and I definitely plan to return—hopefully with a different server next time!
