While English may not have been their first speech, there is no excuse for being a simple rude. we asked for drinks during a happy hour period and she would not first honor the advertisement from the front...then tried to overload in the meal that was ordered. no excuse, not even a thank you. cultural differences are a thing, but sydney needs all the help that can get it, and in a tourist area like the rocks should this type of service be left to home. maybe a bad day or just a bad employee, but I will never go back and would recommend avoiding all that cost cash to all. no customer!
We ate here on Easter Saturday as part of a weekend in the city. the location was practical and the opportunity to sit outside on the terrace, pulled us to the place. we ordered a glass of wine and a pickle wine and became. $17.00 for this privilege and put it on the city prizes. we ordered a Share-Platter-Entrée and two main dishes of huh and a prawn pasta. we were shocked that all foods arrived at the same time and when we began to complain about eating, was just left there and the waitress went away. a second waiter/floor walker then asked how my pasta was and when I began to tell him that it was cold and all the food was delivered at the same time he was only smiled and said, now I will let her to him. if I had the chance, I would have made the point that eating was cold and the time of delivery was terrible. Unfortunately, we had already paid for the meals at the time of ordering (including a surcharge for it was a holiday....what it was 't) or we might have a more pleasant result. we can't change what happened to us, and we won't be back, but we can write this, and I hope this will provide a timely warning for others.
Eating and eating were cruel. had Seafood stock plate, and it was far overboiled, and seemed like it was under heat lamps or something. the barramundi had turned to the consistency of lumpy kartoffels, and the...prawns, all three, were fucked and grilled, but were so dried up that they held on the dishes. the four scallops, and they were not even tasmanic scallops, were also dried out and the squid rings were greasy and very uninteresting. my wife hated the meal. to the happiness they close!
Really nice bar and cozy, eat really good and personal very friendly and welcoming. will go back.
There was no room on the terrace so we had to eat inside where there was an appalling singer (hope they weren't paying her) with the volume turned up way too loud. Both the food and the service were excellent. I had grilled barramundi on...zucchini very good. My husband had fish and chips and thought they were very good too. It was quite expensive for what it was, particularly considering it was not a relaxing dining experience.
