I'm not back.
Perhaps my view of the restaurant was held by the appetizers drinks at the bar in the observer hotel, which is in front of the restaurant. the stone looked grumpy bouncer, began the evening with rude rest. arrogant surprise, which was almost tuned by the humdrum service at the bar and the overpriced beer and wein. I think they're in the wrong thing when they stand outside people who believe they can have a drink, then they'll be thrown out risk! Maybe they just hate the idea that they can afford a drink that the bouncers cannot. they looked unwashed, unkempt and were monosylabbic in their greeting and warning about drinking there! the eating in the restaurant looked much better than it did on the table and was much overpriced as the wine? Why should an average herb red in sydney cost more than the same wein in london? the restaurant servcice was better than the bouncer and the bar service, but they still had the idea that they would rather eat them elsewhere and it was all too much annoyed for them to please them. sydney is expensive, but the observer hotel and its restaurant are the worst price-performance ratio I have anywhere in the world!
We liked our food and there was more than enough. I would say that eating was a bit expensive, but I am used to the prices in the usa. We've eaten twice, so everything was good.
I just had black angus steak and john dory fish dishes here in this old pub/restaurant on the rocks in sydney and I have to say that they have to get a lot of forwarding trade, as I cannot imagine, return diners? we sat in the yard that had a few more diners when we arrived, but no one else and maybe we would have seen it as a sign? the pub below was also quite empty, although this was too midday! the steak was A$30 and the john Dory fish was A$32 and came with chips and salat and both were suitable for a fast pub meal and maybe this is the cure for sydney, but seemed quite expensive for what it was. on the plus side the chips were plentiful and salat was sufficient, but nothing special about it. the sauces were in bottles on the theke, which saw how thiugh they could do with a good cleanliness and were limited to scab, tomato, bbq and worcester! the rolls were hard and stale and even the möwen were not so sharp on them! just arrived in sydney today, so will see if this is the standard for this city
Great food. Good quality coffee. Good price. Salmon must try. Before close, don't miss time sale.
