Spahr's Seafood Downtown Thibodaux

I stopped here for lunch today and the place is left. Not a good sign, but I was greeted and sitting, and supervised by a friendly waitress. I had no other customers, I really had an excellent service, and I got it. I didn't see much of the place as I sat right at the door that I entered and exited on my request. When I asked about lunch specialties, she mentioned the dinner for about $8,95 I think and then a few other specials. The fish caught my attention, and I ordered the black drum fish in crust sauce. I should have asked the price. I have to say the food was very good. But I almost fell out of my chair when she took the ticket for over $20. Now I'm not cheap... I just didn't expect so much and would have ordered something more in my lunch budget, I would have known. That means she was great, the food was very good, and the atmosphere was what you expected for lunch. I think I'd take the Missus to dinner. I don't know what drum fish is, though...

WAY better than Des Allemands Restaurant! Although these catfish bites were not so good. I had a number of pages as my dinner containing the crab cakes w/lmon cream sauce and the Hushpuppies w/crawfish sauce. My mouth has been fed since then and I can't wait to go back! Do not, do NOT give the bread pudding w/rum sauce!!!! It was big enough for 4 people and FABULOUS!
