Address being among the best on Thionville, the restaurant is located in the Cour du Mersch in a quiet location in the heart of downtown. The proposed kitchen is of excellent quality, à la carte you will find: various dishes, meats, hamburgés and tartines. The kitchen is made home from quality products purchased from local producers. The staff is dynamic, helpful and smiling and always good advice. The room is a little small so it is better to book upstream, however, during the beautiful days the restaurant installs a beautiful terrace in the Court of Mersch which allows to enjoy the beautiful weather.
We arrived tired after 9 hours driving. They put us next to a big round table with 10 people talking animated. We asked for a quieter table, they said they were all reserved. We asked for normal water and house wine but we got the expensive versions for which we paid € 3 and € 6. The so called escargots were dry, shrimped and tough. The luxe, french cuisine style hamburger consisted out of cheap, not totally grilled meat with a very few sloppy greens. The fries were cold, the bread was cheap, sweetend breakfast toast that was roasted too dark ... We asked for improvements but got as answer: this is the only bread we have ! ... and everybody gets the same fries and nobody complains . So we ate quietly not daring to bother, while feeling that their attitude got more aggressive and ignoring. Probably we were expected to shout and eat up ; One plate of 8 small escargots, one standard hamburger, one glass of wine and a bottle of 500 ml water costed us: € 49,85
At dessert there was a mix-up, instead of vanilla ice cream with whisky lemon ice cream was served with whisky, on request at the waitress the chef himself came to our table. He had both the whiskey bottle and the vodka bottle with him. In a very unfriendly way he pointed out that in the dessert is made with whisky and I could try the bottle to convince myself. He completely misjudged the real problem. He repeatedly rejected a clarification attempt in French as well as in English and left the guest as the doofan, who cannot distinguish between vodka and whisky!
We where there last week and we had a great meal with excellent service!! The hotel recommended to go and it was fantastic Thanks, next time we drive that way we'll be back
