Cafe Hive - Thiruvananthapuram

The food was really delicious. The executive chef Anish himself came down to check on us. Very courteous staff.

Cafe hive is a restaurant situated within Hotel Apollo Dimora. We went there for lunch on a Sunday and the place was all empty. Throughout the time we were there I guess only one more couple had come over. We were welcomed with a plate of masala papad. The staff was really warm and helpful in presenting the menu. We got ourselves Paneer Tikka as an appetizer and then got Chicken Tikka biriyani and Mutton Biriyani. We liked the fact that biriyani comes with long rice and the staff was more than welcome to accommodate our requirement of making the biriyani with extra masala. Both the biriyani were pretty good although, I feel it could have been better. The place has huge parking available for customers.

I went with my friends for a dinner, the place is both calm as it is well isolated from the outside noise and happening at the same time, it is close to the Thampanoor railway station and bus station. The food is good enough, for someone like me who is from the Malabar area, the food may not be so much pleasing….but is decent and above all has nice ambiance.

It is one of the best restaurants in Trivandrum! I love my meals. I hope I'll be back soon!

I went from an adjacent hotel for a coffee, but chose the breakfast buffet, which is mainly attracted by the fruit, Mutabal and the idyllic/gunpowder/Gelly oil. Excellent breakfast buffet. Every element I tasted, the buffet is delicious and well executed, whether it is south Indian, Arabic or west. Special mention of mutabal and chicken sausage. Oh the fruits are fresh and sweet....they have this high quality, hand-selected taste... Beautiful. It does not taste like a thoughtful free buffet for stay guests, but is a well-designed smorgasboard that tastes as if it were curated by a foodie. Coffee is good, but can be better. And the yogurts have no love in them. Otherwise, big job! P.S. It would be nice to see the unhealthy maid/sugar/fat-based pastries and bread as a sideshow instead of taking the middle class.
