The rest of the food is mediocre quantities are average, we did find a very long hair intertwined through our salads the other night.. there in person take out locations or better but they don't exist during covid.
Would not recommend this place. The other night I had shuarma in a laffa wrap could barely find 2 tiny peaces of chicken lots of cabbage and very soggy. When we complained to manger his saying is that they weight meat and evreyone get same amount. That means everybody get 2 grams of meat.
I do not normally take time to provide poor reviews but I feel compelled to share my experience. My husband and I drove all the way to Dr. Laffa restaurant in Thornhill today because I had to purchase a few kosher meals to accommodate some of our students for an education event tomorrow. Yes, I do that out of my own time on a Sunday. This is probably the first time in a very long time I am experiencing discrimination. The server was unfriendly and rude, provided a small table for us right by the door which was obviously unused for a reason. When we asked for a larger table that was available in the restaurant in a more comfortable area, we were refused. We requested some lemon slices for our water, but there was actual dirt on the lemon slices when they arrived. When we pointed that out, the server said Well, they are all cut that way. This kind of service was shocking and unacceptable and I wonder if I would have been treated differently if I didn 't look different than the people who normally frequented this restaurant in the community. What an unpleasant experience!
My wife found this place online as a local place to get shawarma so we decided to give it a try. It’s minutes away from our home so the convenience was also great. When we arrived Sunday evening the place was busy with one large group having a birthday party for a young child. Although a little loud and situated straight through the middle of the restaurant, we decided to stay and give it a chance. We were seated and attended to quickly, which was great. Placed our order and the waitress returned a minute later to say they ran out of all Pita. Odd but I guess if you are better known for your Laffa bread who needs pita, right? The fresh baked Laffa was excellent, hot and chewy. Went great with the hummus we ordered also. The chicken shawarma on the Laffa bread was also amazing. Loaded with toppings and far too large to finish in one sitting. We have leftovers for the next day now and we are happy with that! Service was good at the start and through the meal but tapered off at the end of the meal where we couldn’t get the attention of the waitress. Overall a great meal with good portions and good/average service. I’ll be back to enjoy the food here again !!
Dr. Laffa is a simple, casual dining spot with a relaxed atmosphere. The soup was delicious and the portion sizes were decent. The service lacked personality, but we were able to find satisfying vegetarian options on the menu when we were looking for a meal.
