Could be much better if managed correctly. Originally a beautiful lakeside estate now a building in a public park. Crowds until late included. Nice from the outside and at first inside too. The whole hotel is completely understaffed and savings going to the expense...of guests. This sadly included stained upholstery and dirty floors with a strong smell of drain in the room. Some common areas have beautiful lake view but are badly furnished. A classic that seems more than it is. Better value at higher level is nearby.

Very nice experience at the castle of schadau, the staff is very competent, and very kind. bravo for French spoken impeccablely. the place enjoys a terrace with views of the eiger, the mönsch and the jungfrau, beautiful view of the Bernese Alps. the castle park is also very well maintained and ready to relax. food is of very high quality and served with great professionalism. an excellent experience to live or to relive. ps: we are not at all of the bourgeoisie and we have never felt any problem about it, just a minimum of knowing how to live when we are in this kind of place:-)

What a place to let his soul budge. on the veranda you have a breathtaking view of the sea and mountain. this alone would be worth a trip! we were divided from our experience: we had on one side a very cordial and tried waitress, on the other side a chef who seemed lustless and unhappy. what we cannot beautify are the long waiting times, we came after the big lunch and still had to wait really long. to the happiness there is this prospect, there is much to discover and observe. eating was very fine until edible, but all dishes were very beautifully presented. if the kitchen is still fit after the full midday house, if the chef also has strength/taste, the late guests are cordially welcomed and served, then the arts has all the chances to get the full score. we're coming back!

The setting is extraordinary, the brewery part perfectly acceptable in terms of price and quality (there is also a gourmet part of the restaurant).....the view, the place is so heavenly that we forget anyway the little imperfections.
