The Red Rock - Tías

The staff were lovely, but the chef's really need to work on getting authentic Mexican recipes. The rice that came with the meal was simple boiled rice, not what you'd get in Mexico or even southwestern US. The tortillas for nachos were a bit stale and the chicken in the burritos wasn't cooked to order. We were disappointed.

Despite what their Facebook page says they are not open on a Monday and the phone number on their Facebook page is not correct. We tried to eat here on Monday 25 March. Nothing outside to indicate Monday is the day they are closed and if it wasn’t for the review posted 2 days ago you would think they are closed. Facebook page has nothing for 3 months on it.

On a week 's holiday we visited twice. The food was very good but the service was exceptional. For example when we asked how hot the chilli was, a sample was brought to our table for us to judge and ask for more or less hot . A wine we chose was out of stock but a more expensive bottle supplied at the same price.

Lovely visit to this Mexican restaurant in the commercial centre in Matagorda. Fantastic value for money, good choice on the menu portion sizes were big!! Staff were absolutely amazing with my 6 year old. Will definitely visit again when we return.

Wow what a great little find great food great sangria and really friendly staff all the staff when out of there way to make sure our children were happy and really made an effort would definitely recommend this place !!
