We eat here on a hot Sunday. the views are great, the brise was delightful, the staff was friendly and attentive. my man had the queso relleno and found it very tasty and unique to its palette. I had the baked fish. I enjoyed it. the strangest thing about this meal was that my man was served and had finished his meal long before my came to the table. the prices were much lower here than similar restaurants. our meal with drinks was under $300 pesos. all in all we had a pleasant time.
We stop for lunch in the el mirador and the owner chef welcomed us as we entered the restaurant. they have fresh fish and all traditional jukatan dishes. the chef was trained many years ago by the owner of one of the best most popular restaurants in merida. all food cooking over wood and eating is very delicious! see this place when they look for a great and fresh meal.
We had a great morning of shopping the local stores and artisan shops We arrived at the restaurant at around 2 pm which sits atop a hill overlooking the town of Ticul. We were the only ones in the restaurant and we sat enjoying cold...drinks and enjoyed the 360 degree view. The menu is sufficient and has quite a few great selections. They happened to be out of the cochinita pibil but we ordered the cochinita pollo which was excellent and came with warm tortillas, mole, and salsa and chips. Very pleasant afternoon and friendly staff. The bill for all four of us came to less than 400. pesos and included the ice cold beers we enjoyed. As we left the local folks began to arrive as we returned to collect our purchases from the shops. Very enjoyable and about 1 1/2 hour drive on good, well marked roads from Merida.
