A friend recommended the Tigre Delta as a day trip from Buenos Aires. It is a simple train ride and once there to do many things, although on Tuesday many attractions and museums were closed, so the focus on exploring the Delta as it should be! My interest was reached by the possibility of lunch in a German restaurant, with the local ferry boat. Not much Spanish speaking, it was a little confusing to be dropped in the middle of nowhere, and followed a small path along the river for about 10. But there it was, thrown away, a small piece of Germany, a inn, no less. If I had only planned before and packed a night bag, I could have stayed for dinner too! Gulasch, yes! Liver cheese, please shoot! Apple strudel, why not? Thanks to the host owners, a day trip to a trip highlight was made because in the end, travel is about sharing not only food, but experiences. Thank you, Willi Susan!
It's a nice restaurant with lodge. Great ambience and excellent German cuisine. I wasn't there, but the service provided at the start was incredible. Really nice. I recommend it.
On a trip through the Tigre delta we encountered this pleasant surprise. An alpine theme place in the midst of a tropical environment! Excellent food (a mixture of alpine and Argentine cuisine) and very friendly hosts (the Austrian/German/Swiss descent) contributed to a wonderful afternoon.
I visited 2 days ago, for a day tour in delta, just in the outskirts of BA. You access this place by water, with a motorboat through beautiful canals. The surroundings are magical and give a very quite/peaceful atmosphere to this place. I was attracted by the austrian origins of the owner, who personally served me an authentic austrian/german meal. The restaurant is very cozy and neat. Though I didn't stay overnight, the bungallow/houses were separate from eachother and give a lot Of privacy. I'd say if you wanna get some rest or go for a day tour in delta river, this is an idillic place!
