It is not bad, but to keep a big sushi bar, you need a constant stream of customers and fresh seafood. sushi is not yet popular enough n todos santos yet.
“You ate something on a hot, dusty road in mexiko? Are you crazy?” my friend of la couldn’t make such a thing fathom. but, hey, this is todos santos! we've got hot dusty Scottish roads, but I've never been sick of our streetcars. in the opposite. I regularly eat some of my most unforgettable meals on this wise, especially when I am on the curse...(another unfathomable idea for most city dwellers to wrap their thoughts....that each of us actually busy and sometimes has to eat fast). Anyway, a welcome addition to our already excellent street prices georges sushi express. I know. hears quite hopeful, especially without current, to provide any cold. but believe me, this is the real thing and everything is kept super fresh on ice and served very lovingly by jorge amador. jorges mother-in-law is ana San...known for her own restaurant and sushi make family. jorge trains with ana for 4 years, and when he closes the load in sushi express, he and his wife kenia 7 nights in the week anas new location, over the road from the pemex station. ana also has a sushi cook son, chopin, serving his wonderful sushi selections in the popular Mario’s bar in el hotelito. jorge called his car as part of a “Cadena”....a chain. over the street of banorte there are two umbrella tables to sit and watch who goes to the slot machine or is washed her car, or they can go to their order. anas dad is a local fisherman, so they can be sure that the fish is directly from the boat. there are sashimi, garnel, skalopps and crabs, even in the season. I had the delicious spicy rolling with dorado and lobster kaviar, and super tasty philadelphia rolling with cream cheese and garnel. everything comes with the usual soy sauce, wasabi and ingwer. jorge also offers a lot of shrimp tempura dishes. the prices range from 20p for two pieces fish sushi nigiri, to 85p for the most expensive dishes on the menu, spicy scalop rolls or mazago garnel rolls with avocado. it makes fun to just stand there as jorge prepares her order and shoot the brise about what happens in the city. he comes from one of the oldest familias of todos santos. he is a nice guy and his sushi express is a delicious winner.

“You ate WHAT on a hot, dusty street in Mexico? Are you out of your mind?” My friend from LA couldn’t fathom doing such a thing. But, hey…this is Todos Santos! Sure we have hot dusty dirt roads, but I have NEVER gotten sick from...any of our street carts. On the contrary….I regularly eat some of my most memorable meals this way, especially when I’m on the run…(another unfathomable idea for most city folk to wrap their minds around….that any of us are actually busy and need to eat fast sometimes). Anyway, a most welcome addition to our already excellent street fare selections is George’s Sushi Express. I know…sounds pretty daring, especially with no electricity to power up any refrigeration. But believe me, this is the real deal and everything is kept super fresh on ice and served up quite lovingly by Jorge Amador. Jorge’s mother-in-law is Ana San…known for her own restaurant and sushi making family. Jorge trained with Ana for years, and when he closes up shop at Sushi Express, he and his wife Kenia work nights a week at Ana’s new location, across the street from the Pemex Station. Ana also has a sushi chef son, Chopin, who serves his marvelous sushi selections at popular Mario’s Bar in El Hotelito. Jorge jokingly referred to his cart as part of a “cadena”….a chain. Located across the street from Banorte, there are two umbrella tables for sitting and watching who goes to the ATM or gets their car washed, or you can take your order to go. Ana’s dad is a local fisherman, so you can be sure the fish is straight from the boat. There’s sashimi, shrimp, scallops and crab, when in season, as well. It’s fun to just stand there watching Jorge prepare your order…and shoot the breeze about what’s happening in town. He hails from one of Todos Santos’s oldest familias. He’s a lovely guy and his Sushi Express is a tasty winner.
