El Tipico Restaurant - Toledo

Stopped here on a whim after the zoo. I was a bit thrown off after realizing that the restaurant was organic and gluten-free as that is not my typical go-too. The food and the service ended up being wonderful! The salsa and the beef tips especially. Will definitely be open to going back when I am in the area again. We did not have a reservation but they took us in anyway. Great family atmosphere and amazing food. Worth every penny and the portions where huge! Great authentic tasting food. I would eat in the small towns that gave me the experience of identifying and appreciate real Mexican cuisine. el tipico is the right one, and that's hard to find. what I liked best about el tipico is the simpleness of fresh ingredients that are only prepared for them. they are clearly not mass production of food and heat it. also they are just on some ketchup salsa and call it mexican. I recommend to know. only advise, it is probably quite different from what they are used to. it is an improvement and you will love it.

We ate there twice on our last trip to mackinac island, michigan. eating was very good. Cheese dip is served in a long dish bowl. margaritas are always special. our server was very nice and fast. highly recommended.
