When we got home—which is only half a mile away—the food that was meant to be hot was served cold. I was losing my patience after waiting over 45 minutes for my order in the market, which was after an additional 15 minutes from the time I placed the order on the phone. I can honestly say I've never had a worse meal, and neither my wife nor daughter has ever been this sick from spoiled seafood. Furthermore, the person who took my order over the phone wasn't attentive at all, leading to one meal and an appetizer missing from our order, which meant I had to make a second trip back without any acknowledgment or apology from the counter staff. I jokingly asked for a small complimentary cup of coleslaw as a goodwill gesture for the trouble, but the staff member told me their boss wouldn’t allow it—no surprise there. I can only imagine what the health department would say if they conducted a surprise inspection. The owners of Ortley Seafood need to get their act together. The positive reviews here seem to be from people who are willing to settle for overpriced, subpar food while on vacation. If you check out the other negative reviews, you'll find a consistent pattern. This is the genuine seafood market you've been looking for, and the prices are excellent too. We purchased two lobster tails, a set of crab legs, two steaks, and a lemon for just $70, and the quality was fantastic.
