I would just like to thank a great thank you to becky and the team for the smooth running of high time despite unexpected guests appearing and last minute cancellations. also the venue was perfectly decorated and nothing was too much annoyed. we had the hog festival with hot roasted veg, kartoffeln yorkies followed by zigeunerte. the resident dj gary lucci acted as a toastmaster to ensure that the procedure ran smoothly. all the guests we talked to were the best time they had ever visited. Thank you.
You just can't blame the plough, from the first time I visited, I was blown away from the fantastic team and the stunning venue. I was looking for a rustic but elegant shiny vibe and from the beginning the team understood my vision and helped bring everything to life. I had even wished strange (as my man guatemalan is, so we wanted to bring his culture into the day) and the team exceeded all expectations, our guests were blown away. eating in the plough is also exceptional, all our guests commented on how fantastic it was (not like their usual, often dry high-time dinner we had the slowly baked bark for the net and it was mouthwater. the day was the whole plough team excellent, they were friendly and warm and so efficient. I couldn't believe how fast they set up the room! I can't recommend the plough enough, they'll hang in such trustworthy hands and they know that their day runs smoothly and beautifully. thanks team plough!
This pub, in a rural setting just outside Tonbridge, has a lot going for it spacious beamed interior, beautiful gardens, huge car park and friendly efficient service. The menu has a good variety of dishes. I had a cod burger which was delicious: light crispy batter with succulent fish in a brioche bun simply dressed with mayo and lettuce. It sounds simple but was so good I'd like to go back and eat it again tomorrow! As well as the normal menu, on weekdays you can also choose from two or three course set menus, which seemed good value. The two beers on tap were from Tonbridge brewery and Kent brewery and were both in excellent condition. If you go, best to first check out their website, as they are sometimes closed for weddings.
Excellent pub lunch stop on the way to Rye. Ten mins off the A21. Fish cakes sweet potato fries were delicious. Baguettes also good. Friendly welcome service. Dogs welcome. Nice garden. Plenty of car parking. Quiet spot down the lanes.
Wow, wow, wow!!! This place is amazing. We went for dinner on a wet Tuesday evening but were greeted warmly by the host, nothing was too much trouble for her. Despite so few customers it was warm and comfortable with a roaring log fire. The service is the best we have experienced in the area and the food was simply the best we have had in a long, long time and such good value at two courses from their set menu for £15. Even the music being played in the bar was great. If you want a great evening out in a friendly, local pub with absolutely fantastic food the you have to visit The Plough, at Hildenborough you won't regret it!
