The chef went above and beyond to create a personalized meal for us that was not only delicious but also showed a lot of care and attention to detail. We were expecting just a salad, but instead, we were treated to 5 different sandwich options on gluten-free ciabatta, chunky chips, vegan and gluten-free "not-sausage" rolls, and a fruit crumble dessert. The chef made us feel incredibly welcome and was very accommodating. We are extremely grateful for the wonderful meal. Highly, highly, highly recommended!
On a rainy evening, we decided to brave the weather and make our way to The Waterleaf Restaurant. We were warmly welcomed with a delicious cocktail and greeted by the staff at Reynolds, affirming our decision to visit. Despite the weather, the view from the small restaurant was still splendid. We were presented with a diverse menu and enjoyed homemade bread and whipped butter before diving into seven courses, including coffee and petit fours. Every dish was delightful, especially the perfectly cooked venison - a first for me. The Waterleaf Restaurant and chef Chris deserve more recognition for their splendid setting. I can only imagine how magical it would be in the summer with the sun setting.
We ate here a couple of years ago and thought it was wonderful. We returned with a friend today and were somewhat disappointed. Last time we had a wonderful table upstairs in the main restaurant, this time we were put in the bar area which wasn't as nice. I asked if there was still an upstairs restaurant and was told there was. The food was good, well cooked and presented and at a good price. Our first 2 choices of wine were not available, we were told they were in the process of changing wine supplier which seemed a bit odd. When we booked we were given an option of 12:00 or 14:30; we chose 14:30, but this meant that when we came to order desserts we were told that these were not available as the kitchen had closed and we hadn't been given any warning of this. So all in all the experience was somewhat disappointing.
I really enjoyed the tasting night at this restaurant. The food was delicious and the prices were fair for London. However, I think the restaurant could benefit from better advertising and a unique selling point to set it apart from the competition.
I came here for a spa day recently which was lovely and returned today to eat in the Waterleaf Lounge. The sun came out for a while so we were able to eat on the beautiful terrace which has a stunning view. Lovely service and great food and drinks. There is an emphasis on super foods but combined with regular food too. I had the fish finger sandwich which is excellent and my friend had quinoa salad with aubergine and goats cheese, all just lovely. She reported that her lemon and strawberry tart was wonderful (but didn't offer me any!! . Lovely impressive place, being greeted by a Strictly Come Dancing Celeb as we arrived added to it too! You don't have to be a member to have lunch or tea here. I will be back.
