The interior of the shop was a bit dingy, especially considering the sleek exterior with black tinted glass doors. It could use a makeover to match the image it portrays. While it does have some personality and personal touches with signatures and artwork on the wall, it still feels a bit uninviting and not somewhere I would bring a special guest. It was a bit embarrassing, to be honest.
As a restaurant connected to a local hotel, it was never open during my stay. On my last morning, breakfast was supposed to be open at 6:30am. Around 6:30, I went to the café and saw two women inside, using iPads. By 6:35, it still hadn't opened and the women were still on their iPads. Near 6:40, nothing had changed so I decided to leave.
Really love the way the team here make us welcome. They have a flair for simple Ayre served with love.
Came in for a coffee last Wednesday for the Wednesday Half-Off coffee deal I noticed as I drove my way to work. It appeared a busy day that 12-1 lunch break, only one barista available with what I had a line up of 4 ahead of me, 2 behind (and as I waited, more). Took 10-15 minutes to finally get it but I understood the rush. Coffee itself wasn't too bad, been to numerous coffee places around the CBD though and I'd have to say its along the bottom of coffee experiences but that could just be my taste. Would only come in for the half off Wednesdays, however. Otherwise the inside of the store is a little dingy for what it suggest it would be outside those black tinted glass doors. May need a makeover! Still has some personality and personal touch with the signatures and whatnot posted on the wall, but still feels dingy and wouldn't be somewhere I'd invite someone special to. I'd honestly feel a little embarrassed.
