Amigos Topeka Mexican

We experienced a few mix-ups with our orders, and the service was a bit slow despite arriving early at 4:30. Our appetizer came just seconds before our main dishes. The queso was different from what I usually expect, tasting more like BBQ meat than ground beef. It was decent, just like the taco salad, which was pretty basic and nothing out of the ordinary. However, our other meal was a generous platter that tasted good, so we took the leftovers home. The margaritas were fine. Overall, the experience wasn't outstanding, but it was good enough that I would consider returning to try something else when we have more time and are in the area.

This place is AMAZING. I'm from Texas and had basically given up finding good, much less great, Mexican food here. Then I found Amigo's and have gone 5 times in the last 6 weeks. The pollo fundido, queso, shrimp diablo- everything I've tried has been wonderful. The servers are all really nice and quick, the atmosphere is great for kids. It's my absolute favorite restaurant in Topeka now. Price per person: $10–20
