We enjoyed the scenic view at the restaurant, but since we weren't too hungry, we settled for just a teacake and a cup of coffee. Unfortunately, my debit card was declined unless I paid an extra 50p supplement, since I hadn't spent £8. This policy was not explained before ordering, and I have never encountered it at any other establishment. Due to this experience, I will not be returning to this restaurant.

The staff were friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The restaurant had been nicely renovated, creating a wonderful ambiance. Despite having TVs on the walls, they did not detract from the overall atmosphere. The music was at a pleasant level, allowing us to have conversations without having to shout. The food was excellent - roasted tomatoes on wine vine ciabatta for him and tasty duck and orange cake with a variety of breads, both served with a fresh salad and delicious gooseberry chutney. It was a delightful light lunch and we plan to return for dinner soon. We couldn't find anything to critique, as it was a very pleasant experience. We are excited to come back for a live music evening.
