The Paris And Isadora Room - Torbay

This restaurant is not worth the money they charge. We paid 464.00 for a family room for 2 nights for my niece's wedding, but there was no communication. We were served butter without rolls and had to ask multiple times for service. I requested ice cream for dessert, which the staff forgot about and I had to remind them three times. The wedding party had already finished their desserts by the time I got mine. I have contacted the hotel twice since returning home, as I am missing my necklace, but despite promises of a phone call, I have yet to hear back. The staff is friendly, but communication is lacking. The bedrooms are clean but very outdated, with wallpaper peeling off and coffee stains on the walls.

Before our Christmas trip on the light rail, we decided to spoil ourselves with an overnight stay that included dinner. We also invited a friend to join us for dinner. The restaurant was beautifully decorated, but unfortunately, when the food arrived, it was of very poor quality and quite embarrassing.

We have booked and held our guild annual Christmas party at the palace and have always enjoyed it. This year was so disappointing the food was cold, potatoes hard like bullets and the vegetables were raw. At £29.50 a head to say our members were shocked was an understatement. We asked to speak with the manager but he refused to speak with us and sent another lady over, who may have been assistant manager ? But was working on reception. On complaining and trying to show our dissatisfaction we were advised we will just keep your deposit so you don’t have to pay anything else . We were not even offered a free round of drinks just tea and coffee which were already included in the meal . They sent the deserts out which again were cold and were sent back. So we won’t be using the palace again. To be honest we were the only Christmas party there that day and the poor quality of food we honestly don’t think they had any chefs on duty that day. A waste of £75.00 and a ruined Christmas party for our guild.

Chefe Samir, Gomal and the team always create lovely meals and present them with a smile. Love the Mamlouk and the Asian Restaurant. Always visit at least twice on each visit.
