The Usual Plaice - Torbay

I visited this restaurant tonight while staying at the nearby Parkdean resort. I had tried Paul's Plaice chippy before because it was closer, but the chips were awful. So I decided to give this restaurant a try and what a delight it was. The staff were friendly from the moment I walked in, and they even gave my 6-year-old some sweets while we waited. The prices were very reasonable, with a cod costing only £6 something, much cheaper than what I'm used to in rip-off southern England. As they were getting ready to close, they offered me some free sausages, which I couldn't refuse. Overall, this place is fantastic if you're looking for delicious food, friendly service, and great value. Thank you for a wonderful meal. - Michael

We went to this restaurant twice during our time in Torquay. The Fish and Chips were delicious, with generous portions and affordable prices. The staff were also extremely helpful and friendly.

Beautiful chips and fish. Staff are 5star clean restaurant unlimited chips if you eat in with a meal. Mushy pea fritters are lush definitely the best chippy in the bay

The fish was lovely and crispy and they were the chips and the staff were friendly and helpful Someone in here most of their job as they were singing I must’ve been happy.
