The Willows Cantonese - Torbay

We just received our takeout order from The Willows Cantonese in Torquay, United Kingdom. Unfortunately, the entire order was inedible. The food appeared and smelled unpleasant. Everything was overcooked, and the vegetables and chicken were tough, dry, and chewy. It seemed as though we were served leftovers from the previous day. Each dish we ordered had the same sauce, dry chicken, and salty shrimp added to make it appear different, and the odor was also disagreeable. The smell was so off-putting that we decided to throw the whole order in the trash. This is not a joke… please avoid ordering any food from this restaurant!!!

I have been dining at The Willows for years and the food has always been great. However, my last two meals were dreadful - bland and tasteless. I ended up throwing more food in the bin than actually eating. I will definitely not be dining there again.

We decided to give this restaurant another chance after a previous pleasant experience. Unfortunately, this time was terrible and we were very disappointed. We won't be trying it again, as the whole meal ended up in the garbage. It was a waste of £25.00.

First time we have had food here, we were very disappointed. Food was very poor. Pork chow mien had very little pork, and that was poor quality. Pork ribs were very tough and chewy, the BBQ sauce had the consistency of water and was tasteless. Poor quality ingredients, and badly prepared and cooked. Never again.

We have previously had food from here many years ago and in all honesty it was just average so it was never our regular takeaway. However, a couple of weeks ago a family member said they enjoyed the food from them so we thought we’d give it another try. I can honestly say it’s certainly improved a lot. The food is pretty good and on par with other decent Chinese/Cantonese takeaways. We will certainly be going back there again.
