It's not bad, but it's not that good. I had a beef Istanbul wrap and asked for extra tomatoes and lots of sauce, the guy making it nodded, and 15 minutes later (they have a lot of online orders, not a bad thing for the business, but does result in long waits as a walk-in customer) I got wrap with not all that much sauce and not very many tomatoes, the regular amount for sure. For its size I'd say it was unreasonably priced, smaller than most shawarma and about double the price of an uptown shawarma. The taste was okay, not very good, but not bad in any way. My friends ordered plates, they enjoyed them and they looked decent. Portion size on them was pretty good, but not in proportion to the price. Very generous serving of sour yogurt on the side though, so that's a plus. All in all place isn't bad, but overpriced in my opinion.
I came here with a friend to try various snacks in Kensington. We had their rice pudding (dessert) and being middle eastern it was a tasty nostalgic middle eastern treat. It was made perfectly with just the top just perfectly burnt a little for taste. will definitely be going back when I crave rice pudding. It was only 5$!
Iskendar is always a great choice at a Turkish restaurant.
I love the Iskender plate. I don’t know much about Turkish food but this was recommended by a friend. I love it, it’s a big portion, really fills you up. I will be back to try the Pide, they also look great!
