Fabian's Cafe - Toronto

Our family has been coming to this restaurant for over 25 years for their delicious cookies, strudel, hazelnut macaroons, and birthday cakes. They also offer tasty carvings and goulash soups for lunch or takeout. It's a fantastic spot for afternoon coffee and cake. The staff is absolutely wonderful.

I used to be here for lunch. It's worth waiting. The food is delicious. The desserts are divine. A great place for home made food like sandwiches, salads and quiche. Make sure you make calls before you arrive. They were closed on Mondays.

We have visited Fabian's twice in the last week. Fabulous European style Bakery and café. Our first lunch my husband I split one of their shrimp egg sandwiches. Very nice but too much thick bun. Pastries finished us off! Our 2nd lunch we...split a schnitzel- nicely done however little in the way of veggies. Almond tarts to finish-divine! A nice lunch place for friends- very simple but nicely decorated and sparkling clean. Bet ya cant pass by the bakery section without a little something!

Been here many times over the years Nice spot for a coffee and a slice of cake or pastry. The baked goods are excellent. Lunch menu includes sandwiches, salads, quiche, crepes, schnitzel and goulash soup. all the sandwiches are on crusty bagette. the only flaw...is the service.. the cutlery is always just dumped in the middle of table by server and usually have to beg to get a coffee refill. cash or debit only. no credit cards

Fabian's has been our local Go To restaurant for a European style lunch for the 22 years we've been living in the area, and it never disappoints! The lunch menu is simple: a few different quiches, crepes, goulash, open face sandwiches, schnitzel, chef's salad, and my favourite... the Fabian's Salad, which is a plate of greens, egg, avocado, shrimp, and a bun. Everything is prepared fresh daily and very reasonably priced. I took my son for lunch on Friday and we had a salad, a tuna sandwich, a couple of cups of coffee, and for dessert my son had a piece of napoleon pastry (also called a mille feuille or custard slice). Everything was delicious and fresh. I particularly like the coffee that Fabian's serves. I like rich, smooth, German style coffee and the coffee that Fabian's serves is of a much better quality than you'll find in most regular restaurants in the area. We've also used Fabian's for take home treats and special occasion (birthday, anniversary) cakes. Our favourites are apple strudel, lemon meringue tart, mixed fruit tarts (with fresh strawberries, raspberries and blueberries), the strawberry chocolate cake and chocolate fudge cake. Fabian's has been such a mainstay for us that my husband and I served Fabian's strawberry chocolate cake, black forest cake, and chocolate fudge cake at our wedding reception over 27 years ago! Fabian's is a great little European style cafe with a lovely lunch menu and terrific desserts. Highly recommended!
