Federick Restaurant - Toronto

Federick has very generous portions with a fairly inexpensive price tag. We were pretty full with just a few dishes ordered. The restaurant was packed in the evening and we had to wait a bit to just get seating.The wait was worth it though and the food was delicious. It was flavorful but maybe not as spicy as Indochinese can be.

The food was good and portions were good also . They have a lot of varities .

Went for the first time today and wow, I was very impressed. My friend recommended the crispy ginger beef and it was *chefs kiss*! Best I’ve ever had. Also had general tao chicken and chili chicken. Lunch combos are very affordable at $9.25 and include tea or a can of pop.No wait to dine on a weekday at lunch time. Staff was friendly and attentive. Would definitely visit again!

Wanted to try it it’s Chinese staff are the worst and they trained the runners to be scared of them. Tried to make a reservation, he said only needed for 10 or more. Came in and he said wait 45 minutes to 1 hour. I said that’s why I called for a reservation so I don’t have to wait so long and look at a Chinese sour face. Attitude and rudeness makes the food horrible as it comes out in the food. I DO NOT RECOMMEND FREDERICK, markham. Horrible! Don’t be disappointed!Vegetarian options: Will try may be. But not expecting much difference.

I love Indian style Hakka Chinese food! I was first introduced to this style of food many years ago at Federick, located in Scarborough. Since then, many similar restaurants have popped up all over the city.I recently had lunch with a friend at Federick in Markham, their newer location. We ordered the Manchurian Chicken and Beef with Mixed Vegetables from their lunch specials menu. At $9.25, including rice and a drink, this was a bargain.The chicken, battered, fried, and covered with a rich spicy sauce was delicious. The beef dish, on the other hand, lacked flavour. It wasn't terrible but it needed some help. Adding a touch of salt and some pepper sauce helped.Although the service was good, we observed a few things that could be improved. The most obvious was streaks on the table from being improperly wiped. The plates and serving platters were scuffed and chipped.Would I consider coming back? Maybe...
