Contribuisci feedbackFigs, located on Parliament Street just north of Queen, is a charming and inviting breakfast/brunch spot with a cheerful and dedicated staff. They have a wonderful special eggs menu at affordable prices, with the Bennies being my personal favorite. Despite its popularity, there always seems to be a table available. Definitely worth a visit!
Decor /Ambiance<br/ <br/ Small place, with limited seats. If you are looking for a semi private area. This isn't the place for you as you are seated so closely to the next table. Cash and kitchen located right there so you can hear them make food etc which adds to the ambiance but not my thing.<br/ <br/ Food/Prices:<br/ <br/ Decent prices, however the food isn't as good. It was mediocre. Nothing special about the omelettes. The egg burger was dry even with the avocado spread. And it comes with all the toppings on the side. <br/ <br/ The coffee was kind of cold and not that tasty. Once we were ready to leave she came asked if I wanted a refill. By that time I didn't care much for the coffee.<br/ <br/ The frenchtoast were good!<br/ <br/
Outstanding service and food. Traditional brunch food done really well in a nice atmosphere, surrounded by beautiful art and flowers. Not greasy. Big portions. Great price.<br/ <br/ A touch of orange zest and crispy edges make the French toast absolutely delicious. This is my favourite, accompanied with eggs, sausages, bacon and potatoes. You can choose perfectly grilled hash browns or crisp homefries. I prefer the fake table syrup, but there is an option to upgrade to real maple syrup for those who prefer it. <br/ <br/ My second favourite is the Royal Eggs Benedict. WOW. 3 eggs with smoked salmon (never ever fishy) on an English muffin drizzled in delicious homemade hollandaise sauce. I usually substitute the potatoes for a house salad and add avocado. The touch of lemon in the hollandaise is so fresh and keeps the dish somewhat light. This is definitely their most famous dish. I have never liked eggs Benedict, but this dish changed my mind after I had repeatedly seen it featured in a few food blogs and instagram accounts, as well as on Toronto.com<br/ <br/ The fresh OJ is perfect complement to both dishes. <br/ <br/ Highly recommended. My only complaint is that they're not open later than 4pm, because I would also love to have dinner there!
Very friendly service. Appropriately priced diner breakfast food. I had the potato pancakes with eggs, bacon and sour cream on the side. It was a nice change. There was still lots of seating at 930am on Sunday but it filled up fast after that. The new Regent Park neighbourhood is being built nearby and is interesting for site-seeing.
First and foremost, if they ask you to wait for a table here, it's totally worth it. It's a very busy restaurant, so you do feel a bit rushed but the food is outstanding.<br/ <br/ I usually order their eggs benny, because you get 3. Their half home-fries, half potato hash is so good, you almost want to get a full plate of it.<br/ <br/ They always include some fresh fruit and the service is attentive.
