Portions are great, but if they want to eat a typical fish and chips, this was not our cup tee. the dough on the fish was very different tasting than all fish and chip places we visited in toronto. the fries also...had a strange aroma, maybe old oil? nevertheless, tried it for the first time, but will not order again from this place. our favorite place is still in the south-east scarborough, duckworths on kingston rd near Kenndy.
Good fish and chips. The Schellfisch was a beautiful, fresh looking piece of fish that was given a good (not excessive) cover of dough and prepared before me. There was a considerable part of chips (not French french frits) that cut one from home .taste, though still a bit too thin for my pleasure. I enjoy adding salt and vinegar to my serving in the shop. Packed in white paper, then newspaper for an authentic note.
This is an old establishment and even though it changed hands the fish tasted good though totally unsalted so you have to season it yourself. The chips could have been better but overall satisfies your fish and chip cravings
Really enjoyed the first time at this location. Haddock and chips large size portion, hot, crispy, perfectly cooked. Second time had the halibut. Fish was good, the batter was light and crispy but not as good as the first time I was there. Overall...3.5/5. Fast service. Picnic tables just outside the store pleasant location.
